Hi, I am Darci (DJ)
My name is Darci, I am 32 years old. I was born in New York, raised in New Jersey, went to college in Connecticut and am currently living in Union County, New Jersey. I am a high school mathematics teacher in northern Jersey. I am also the softball coach and former basketball coach at the high school. In May of 2011, I began taking classes for my second masters, an MBA in Sports Management through an accredited, online university; Tiffin University in Ohio.
I graduated from Quinnipiac University in Hamden, Connecticut in 2003 with a bachelors in Mathematics and again in 2004 with a Master of Arts in Teaching in secondary education. I was a Division I softball player at the University, starting at first base before and injury ended my collegiate career. Though I could not play anymore, I began coaching as an undergraduate, then graduate coach for Quinnipiac University.
I am currently spending my time working, teaching high school students Algebra & Geometry, researching or writing papers for my MBA classes, coaching softball, playing slow-pitch softball, working on projects for my internship, watching the Yankees and practicing my photography skills. In my spare time, I am playing with my 2 year old nephew. He is going to be a ballplayer that one.
This summer, July 25 - August 6, 2012, to be exact, I will be attending the Olympic Game in London, England. This opportunity came about through my sports management courses at Tiffin University. I am going with a group of 20 people. We are all part of the Olympic Academic Experience. From now until the middle of August I will be taking a course on the Theory and Organization of the Olympic Games. I decided to expand my website required for the course to include a first hand perspective of my time in London and at the Olympics.
